A 1999 American comedy film adapted from a 1998 novel of the same title by Tom Perrotta. The plot revolves around a three-way election race in high school, and satirizes both suburban high school life and politics. Matthew Broderick, Reese Witherspoon have played a fantastic role as professor and student respectively.

The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, a Golden Globe nomination for Reese Witherspoon in the Best Actress category, and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Film in 1999.

I am inspired to observe different view points and am amazed as to how we all seem to make peace with the process of life at one point or another.

Trivia : Since the movie was shot in a real High School (Papillion La Vista High School, Omaha, Nebraska), adjacent classrooms had real class going on while some scenes for the movie were being done.

In the soundtrack, some background noises come from real teachers and students. The director decided to leave that in as to give the movie a more realistic sound.

This four time Oscar winner inspires me to live fearlessly even with my 'flaws'.

Trivia: While preparing the film, the production knew that having some key cast would help the movie get made so the team took the highly unusual step of getting someone who lived near actor Geoffrey Rush (speech therapist in the movie)to post the script through his letterbox.

Although against industry practice, it did have a covering note apologizing for the unsolicited delivery and explained that they were desperate for him to know the script existed. The actor read the script and agreed to do the film.

During experiments to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease, a genetically-enhanced chimpanzee uses its greater intelligence to lead other apes to freedom. A 2011 release, this Sci-Fi did very well at the box office. It starrs James Franco and Freida Pinto in the lead roles and is a must watch for all who enjoy this genre.

In the movie, Michelle Pfeiffer plays the role of an ex-marine teacher struggling to connect with her students in an inner city school.

The film was released to mixed critical reception, but became a surprise box office success leading to the creation of a short-lived television series of the same name.

One person's attitude can make a huge difference.
However, caring enough to CHOOSE 'to care' for someone each time with detachment is the key and inspiration I drew from this movie.

Trivia : Michelle Pfeiffer was pregnant during production. Although shot out of sequence like most films, it becomes apparent when methods are used to hide the actress' stomach.
Methods such as long skirts and bulky sweaters along with scenes where Pfeiffer is shown carrying large objects were used.
