When I watched this film, I was driven to explore the possibility of using 100% of my brain capacity.

Ray

A 2004 biographical film focusing on 30 years of the life of rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles. This independently produced film starred Jamie Foxx in the title role for which he received an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Ray Charles was set to attend an opening of the completed film, but he died of liver disease several months before its premiere.

Despite facing many hurdles in his journey, Ray Charles moves on fearlessly. The courage he shows was inspirational at all levels.

There is an intense sadness and yet there is a spontaneous willingness to walk alone in the dark, which sure looked magical!

Trivia: Jamie Foxx had to wear eye prosthetics that really did make him blind for up to 14 hours a day during shooting.

The Beach

A 2000 adventure drama film based on the 1996 novel of the same name, which was adapted for the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leonardo DiCaprio travels to Thailand and finds himself in possession of a strange map. Rumours state that it leads to a solitary beach paradise, a tropical bliss - excited and intrigued, he sets out to find it.

Hoping that life will be better some place else is a myth. Yet it may be worth taking a risk to find out why...!

Trivia: The actual beach is not totally surrounded and enclosed by mountains, hiding it from the sea. In fact, there is a large gap between two gigantic boulders, and the films editors superimposed a fake mountain there in post-production.

Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen

A teenage girl (played by Lindsay Lohan) is convinced that her home city revolves around her until her family packs up and moves to the suburbs, where she finds herself competing for attention.

A circle of emotions and so much energy to cope with all of that stuff, was a fun observation.

Before Sunset

A 2004 American romantic drama film and the sequel to Before Sunrise (1995) that scores very high in reviews is a must watch! Before Sunset received broad acclaim, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The film picks up the story in Before Sunrise where a young American man and a young French woman meet on a train and spend one night in Vienna.
Nine years later in Before Sunset, their paths intersect again. It plays out in real time as they spend one afternoon together in Paris.

I am inspired to not question the situations that turned out differently than my expectations of them.

Trivia :This film was made 9 years after the first film, which is the length of time between the events in each story.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Two girlfriends i.e. Rebecca Hall & Scarlett Johansson on a summer holiday in Spain become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife (played by the 'Spanish enchantress' Penélope Cruz), with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture.

It seems as though the confusion & mental chaos in each one's personal life is inevitable. The most important thing then is to ACCEPT and welcome that too!

- Vicky Cristina Barcelona grossed 96 million worldwide, in relation to its 15 million dollar budget. Its one of Woody Allen's most profitable films.

- The city of Barcelona offered to pick up the tab of production costs if the film was shot there, the amount rose up to two million Euros from public funds. Ultimately, the filmmakers shot in Barcelona.

Straight from Spain, the movie has a freshness and stillness as it captures the relevant happenings in the life of the three friends.
Enjoying the Tomatina festival, Skydiving, Bull racing, Diving --- all as a way to release the fear and truly let go was as inspiring as doing it myself.
Life is fun with all of this and still can continue to be without it too, was an important learning. I am inspired by the simplicity and the humour of the film.

Trivia: The La Tomatina festival shown in the movie was re-created in Bunol, Valencia, Spain with almost 16 tons of tomatoes specially flown in from Portugal.

Little Fockers

Little Fockers (known as Meet the Parents: Little Fockers) is a 2010 American comedy film and sequel to Meet the Parents (2000) and Meet the Fockers (2004). In addition to the original cast, Little Fockers also features the gorgeous and young Jessica Alba.
Robert De Niro wants to appoint a successor and is on a close mission to understand if his son in law Ben Stiller has what it takes.

The movie continues to keep a smile on my face through out. It is amazing to see how the actors continue their journey in their respective characters through this third sequel.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Kung Fu Panda 2 is a 2011 3D American computer-animated action comedy film and the sequel to the 2008 film Kung Fu Panda. This time the Panda joins forces with a group of new kung-fu masters to take on an old enemy with a deadly new weapon.

This whole movie sums up for me in the following dialogue between the Panda and his master, 'If you have inner peace, anything is possible'.

The Hangover Part II

The Hangover Part II is a 2011 American comedy film and sequel to 2009's 'The Hangover'. Two years after their escapade in Las Vegas, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha & Zach Galifianakis travel to Thailand and the party continues...!

An average rated 2011 release, Gul Panag plays the role of a woman experiencing many changes shortly before turning 30.

It was very interesting to see how this movie came so up and close to the real Mumbai life. I observed how important it can be to figure yourself out and yet I learnt that it is okay to take your time in doing so.

The Robot

India's most expensive film in the year 2010, The Robot's story revolves around a scientist's (played by Rajnikanth)struggle to control his creation, an android robot whose programme was upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and generate human emotions.

The plan backfires as the robot falls in love with the scientist's fiancée Aishwarya Rai, and is further manipulated to bring destruction to the world when it lands in the hands of a rival scientist(played by Danny Denzongpa)

The Invisible

A 2007 release, The Invisible is a story about Justin Chatwin as an attack leaves him in limbo -- invisible to the living and also near death -- a teenager discovers the only person who might be able to help him, is his attacker. The movie also stars Margarita Levieva, featured as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in New York by New York Magazine in 2005.

I learned that there is an incredible power that is making my body function in its own unique way. And it is important that I acknowledge & be grateful to my body whilst i am still in it.

Hall Pass

A new release this year 'Hall Pass' is a hilarious combination of Oven Wilson and Jason Sudeikis as they experience their life going out of control --- after all their respective wives grant them the opportunity to take a week off from their marriage. Although it scores a 6/10 on reviews, it is certainly worth a watch on the big screen.

This whole story is captured for me in the last few words by Oven Wilson to Nicky Whelan (his potential date)
'This place you see here (pointing towards his heart) is where my wife first slept and left her drool. Its also the place where each of my kids have a special place'.

I learnt that sometimes when we try too hard to get something,go some place or be with someone, it is not worth the energy.

Twilight

The movie Twilight stars Kristen Stewart as the teenage girl who risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire i.e. Robert Pattinson. This movie had 23 wins & 7 nominations in varied categories when it released in 2009.

Spirituality meets Inspiration :

This movie gave me an insight into how easily we can get our self to TRUST a person or situation when we are coming from LOVE. Love is the most empowering, Love is all encompassing and Love is healing.

We always have a choice between Fear and Love. How do you know which one you have chosen at any given moment? Its simple, Love always feels lighter!
